Job Description
- Work with the PDE Regulatory Compliance & Verification Lead and Contractors to ensure all compliance and verification activities for the Telecom discipline are defined and executed as required.
- Review and comment on Telecom discipline documents prepared by contractors.
- Monitor and review the contractor’s Telecom activities and deliverables to ensure compliance with all regulatory and contract requirements.
- Ensure compatibility and functionality of existing and new systems and equipment related to Telecom.
- Oversee the development of documentation for Telecom systems, ensuring all required steps are completed.
- Act as the primary responsible for Telecom system commissioning.
- Liaise with engineering teams regarding new Telecom equipment.
- Participate in work pack review sessions and ensure contractor work packs are complete and accurate.
- Review and resolve issues raised by Certifying Authority on Telecom system designs.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZID’s, HAZOP’s, and other related safety studies.
- Participate in global meetings, inspections, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Provide leadership and support to contractors and internal teams, ensuring quality and progress.
- Report any delays, issues, or gaps between delivered solutions and contract requirements to the ICT/SAS Lead, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Qualification Requirements
- University degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 12 years of experience as a Commissioning Engineer for Telecommunication systems within large-scale development projects, both in Norway and internationally.
- Extensive knowledge of Telecom systems such as Telecom Management System, Fiber Data Network, PAGA, PABX, CCTV, GMDSS, WLAN, Telemetry, Navids, and Cyber Security.
- Engineering experience alongside commissioning experience is a plus.
- Experience with modification projects and/or FPSO redeployment is highly desired.
- Previous experience in client-based projects is an advantage.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills within multidisciplinary teams.
- Recent experience in Middle Eastern or Southeast Asian shipyards is a plus.
- Strong diplomacy, assertiveness, and ability to handle complex challenges.
- Highly organized, systematic, and flexible in approach.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
