Job Description

  • Work with the PDE Regulatory Compliance & Verification Lead and Contractors to ensure all compliance and verification activities for the Telecom discipline are defined and executed as required.
  • Review and comment on Telecom discipline documents prepared by contractors.
  • Monitor and review the contractor’s Telecom activities and deliverables to ensure compliance with all regulatory and contract requirements.
  • Ensure compatibility and functionality of existing and new systems and equipment related to Telecom.
  • Oversee the development of documentation for Telecom systems, ensuring all required steps are completed.
  • Act as the primary responsible for Telecom system commissioning.
  • Liaise with engineering teams regarding new Telecom equipment.
  • Participate in work pack review sessions and ensure contractor work packs are complete and accurate.
  • Review and resolve issues raised by Certifying Authority on Telecom system designs.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZID’s, HAZOP’s, and other related safety studies.
  • Participate in global meetings, inspections, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Provide leadership and support to contractors and internal teams, ensuring quality and progress.
  • Report any delays, issues, or gaps between delivered solutions and contract requirements to the ICT/SAS Lead, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
 

Qualification Requirements

  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience as a Commissioning Engineer for Telecommunication systems within large-scale development projects, both in Norway and internationally.
  • Extensive knowledge of Telecom systems such as Telecom Management System, Fiber Data Network, PAGA, PABX, CCTV, GMDSS, WLAN, Telemetry, Navids, and Cyber Security.
  • Engineering experience alongside commissioning experience is a plus.
  • Experience with modification projects and/or FPSO redeployment is highly desired.
  • Previous experience in client-based projects is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Recent experience in Middle Eastern or Southeast Asian shipyards is a plus.
  • Strong diplomacy, assertiveness, and ability to handle complex challenges.
  • Highly organized, systematic, and flexible in approach.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
