Key responsibilities:
The accountant is responsible for day-to-day financial accounting, overseeing banking payments, payrolling, invoicing processing, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial analysis.- Invoicing: Manage the invoicing process, ensuring accuracy and timely billing to clients. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Banking Payments: Oversee all banking transactions, including processing payments and managing cash flow. Ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
- Payroll Accounting: Supervise payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries and benefits. Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and tax requirements.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with IFRS.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts. Analyse variances and report findings to management.
- Account Reconciliation: Oversee reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Audit Coordination: Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and compliance with tax regulations and have sound knowledge of corporate tax.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial operations.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analyses to support strategic initiatives, including profitability analysis and cost management.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, maintaining updated knowledge of changes in laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Commerce.
- Experience: 4+ years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on financial reporting, invoicing, and payroll.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Zoho, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting financial information clearly.
