MDE are recruiting for a skilled Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join an exciting technology company in Buckinghamshire. You will be working on state of the are products that can be seen on a daily basis. You will be working on desiging the whole electronics subsystems including electro-mechanical and electro-optical. Therefore it is essential for the successful candidate to be familiar with the whole design and development lifecycle.
Role & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the full conceptual design, schematic layout, prototyping and testing of electronic systems.
- Working as part of a small, flexible & dynamic design team, with support from experienced electronic, mechanical and optical engineers. Support and mentoring of junior electronics engineers.
- Supporting the implementation of, and working to ASPICE and ISO26262 systems within a continuous improvement culture.
- Direct involvement in projects at every level from customer (some of the worlds most exclusive vehicle manufacturers) to internal teams, manufacturing and suppliers.
Experience & Qualifications required
- High level of Electronics design expertise and qualifications combined with a wide-ranging interest in electrical systems and applications.
- Experience in a senior role with responsibility for complete system design.
- Experience of electronics system design at component level for: Low power DC-DC convertors, power circuits with consideration to thermal management, EMC critical design and layout.
- PCB layout experience for multi-layer boards using modern CAD systems.
- Hands-on technical skills for building and testing prototype circuits.
- Knowledge of full electronics development life cycle from requirements to release.
- Experience of specifications review / requirements capture using industry standard tools.
- Experience with use of simulation tools -ASPICE etc.
- Knowledge of high and low volume PCB manufacturing processes.
- Good team working, communications and problem solving skills.
- Good PC skills including Microsoft Office.
Experience & Qualifications preferred
- Electronics design experience, possibly with CAN/LIN BUS systems.
- Experience of working alongside mechanical engineers to understand packaging and manufacturing constraints
- Work within with the requirements of ASPICE and functional safety (ISO26262).
- Experience in writing EMC test plans, supporting product during test and resolving issues.
