Job Title - Export Packer & Case Maker

Salary/Rate - £11.44 - £14.12 (Experience dependant)

Location - Bristol

Contract - Full Time, Permanent

Hours - Monday to Friday (8:00am - 16:30pm)

Job Purpose: We are seeking a skilled Export Packer & Case Maker to join the team. Your primary role will be to manufacture cases according to customer specifications, ensuring all goods are prepared and packaged to withstand lifting, handling, shipment, and storage. You will perform all packing functions to agreed standards with precision and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construct cases with proper bracing and package items per customer, and industry standards.
• Ensure packaging can withstand lifting, handling, shipment, and storage conditions.
• Strap and stretch wrap goods to protect against moisture and dirt.
• Use foam lining, bubble wrapping, and foil bagging for transit protection.
• Secure machines and goods to bases using brackets.
• Apply shock and tilt indicators to cases.
• Mark cases with weight imbalance and orientation indicators.
• Indicate lifting points and temperature control requirements on cases.
• Ensure proper marking and stamping for heat-treated timber.
• Maintain and report on the condition of tools and work areas.
• Comply with airline security regulations.
• Report damage and defects in machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Cooperate with packing workflow schedules and deadlines.
• Assist in machinery movement as needed.
• Perform additional business activities as required.

• Ensure quality and accuracy of records and paperwork.

Essential Experience:

• Experience in export packing and case making.
• Handling and packing sensitive and heavy equipment.
• Proficient in using power tools safely.
• Valid training in the safe use of saws and nail guns.
• Valid B1 & B2 counterbalance forklift certification (up to 15t capacity).
• Air Cargo Security training (minimum COS level).

Special Working Conditions:

• May require additional and/or unsociable hours.
• Early starts and late finishes are common.
• Travel, including international travel, may be necessary.

Remuneration & Benefits:

• Hourly rate: £11.44 to £14.12, depending on experience.
• Basic hours: Monday to Friday, 0800-1630hrs.
• Overtime rates: Weekdays 1x, Saturdays 1.5x, Sundays 2x, Bank Holidays 3x.
