Are you an experienced Lead Engineering professional with a passion for leading projects and driving innovation? We’re looking for a dedicated Lead Engineer to take ownership of engineering activities, ensuring successful delivery while leading a team of talented engineers.
Key Responsibilities of the Lead Engineer:
- Lead and manage the Functional Safety lifecycle within project settings.
- Supervise and motivate engineering teams (including external resources) to ensure deliverables meet client expectations, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure quality delivery on time and within budget, while identifying and mitigating risks.
- Participate in the development of internal standards and practices through the Engineering Management Working Group.
- Mentor and support apprentices, trainees, juniors, and graduate engineers.
- Design and develop electrical/control concepts including:
- Functional Design Specifications
- Safety Requirements Specifications
- Network Topologies
- Device Layouts
- Cause & Effect Matrices, and more.
- Oversee software design and production, including PLC, HMI, SCADA, robotics, and drive systems.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing, commissioning, and Site Acceptance Testing.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications:
- BEng/BSE/Level 6 Apprenticeship in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (minimum).
- Experience in a similar role.
- Skills & Experience:
- Strong understanding of electrical control systems.
- Hands-on experience in software design and functional safety processes.
- Proven ability to mentor and lead teams effectively.
- Personal Attributes:
- Excellent team player with a proactive approach.
- Strong problem-solving skills and situational adaptability.
- Confident communicator with excellent organizational skills.
- Enthusiastic, hands-on, and dependable.
