Production Lead – Step Up & Lead in a Fast-Paced Food Manufacturing Environment
Are you ready to take the next step in your career? Were looking for a proactive and driven Production Lead to join our high-energy food manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a fast-paced production environment who is eager to step up into a leadership role.
What Youll Do:
- Oversee daily production plans, ensuring equipment and resources are in place for smooth operations.
- Manage and troubleshoot production challenges, developing strategies to improve efficiency and meet demand.
- Analyse performance data (24-72 hours) to identify areas for process improvement.
- Monitor product quality and line performance, making necessary adjustments to enhance productivity.
- Lead projects to ensure deadlines and production standards are met.
- Reduce waste and scrap, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate across teams, including engineers, peers, and management, to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chair development meetings, support product trials, and oversee changeovers.
- Support NPD discussions, assessing the factory’s capability for new product launches.
- Oversee equipment maintenance schedules, ensuring smooth production flow.
- Manage and develop operators, providing training and performance feedback.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards by updating SOPs and procedures.
- Provide technical support during major breakdowns and troubleshoot effectively.
- Ensure thorough line cleaning to maintain food safety and product quality.

- Strong problem-solving skills with a logical and hands-on approach.
- Confidence to challenge and influence peers and management constructively.
- Leadership qualities, with a focus on developing and motivating a team.
- Excellent organisation, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Willingness to be available outside regular hours when required.
- A continuous improvement mindset, always seeking better ways to operate.
- Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP) is beneficial.
