Job Opportunity: PLC Programmer
Location: Coventry
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Fulltime, Permanent)
We are seeking an experienced PLC Programmer to join our design team in Coventry. This role has opened due to retirement and offers the opportunity to work on bespoke automation solutions for a range of UK and global clients.
About the Role
The PLC Programmer will be responsible for designing and developing PLC software using Siemens TIA Portal, working closely with the Controls Manager, Mechanical Design Engineers, and Technicians. Projects range from one-off fixtures to fully automated measurement systems, serving industries such as Aerospace and Automotive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and understand customer requirements
- Develop innovative concepts to meet customer needs
- Conduct critical design appraisals to ensure system robustness
- Design and program PLC software (Siemens TIA Portal)
Key Requirements:
- Experience in software design (PLC or Windows)
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in electrical design
- HND/Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Knowledge of industrial networking (Profinet or other protocols)
- Experience integrating software with control systems
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills
