Are you looking for a new opportunity in HV? MDE are looking for a Jointers Mate to join a leading ICP in the Farnborough region.
You will be responsible for performing jointing activities while ensuring that all electrical network installations are executed professionally, to high standards, and in strict adherence to the Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) for safety.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out and accurately record formal risk assessments of the workplace under supervision and escalate risk factors appropriately.
- Have the correct qualifications to carry out works within the public adopted highway.
- Review and understand work instructions prior to any work commencement either through plans, drawings, and written or verbal communication.
- Carry out works within confined spaces using established safety procedures in conjunction with the Jointer.
- Carry out dead LV jointing works in accordance with safe working practices and adopting DNOs codes of practice, under the direct and personal supervision of the Jointer.
- Carry out live LV jointing works in accordance with safe working practices and adopting DNOs codes of practice, under the direct and personal supervision of the Jointer.
- Carry out HV jointing works in accordance with safe working practices and adopting DNOs codes of practice, under the direct and personal supervision of the Jointer.
- Excavate cable trenches and joint bays using hand-held tools and equipment.
- Lay LV and HV cables in open trenches and through ducts.
- Keep the jointing van tidy and carry out replenishment of consumables as necessary.
- Allow entry into substations for jointing, installation, and standby duties.
- Assist Engineers as required.
Please note that travel is required, and overnight stays may be necessary, full right to work in the UK and driving licenses are required.
